trip booked!
Jan. 9th, 2009 12:24 pmExcellent! Tickets purchased for flights to and from Embro, and accomodation booked for my stay. I'm planning on doing some day-touring around the Lothians with my volunteer dragoman and native scout, but would any of my local friends like to try to get together for drinks or dinner while I'm there? I'll be arriving 2 Fed and leaving 8 Feb.

Date: 2009-01-09 06:38 pm (UTC)What would work for the Drum/Pisica household? You guys have the furthest to come, I think (unless we can lure the Aberdeen contingent down to do something on the Saturday...)
*Other than Monday night, when I imagine I'm going to be just compos enough to last through an early dinner with R before zonking out.

Date: 2009-01-09 10:15 pm (UTC)I was thinking about Khushi's as it has reasonable food at a reasonable price and spacious but it burnt down recently!
So suggestions are welcome for a place to eat on the basis of we need to cater for vegevores

Date: 2009-01-09 10:04 pm (UTC)We're going to attend an SCA event at the Priory Church in S. Queensferry on Saturday. We have Sunday free before flying back to Bournemouth Sunday night. I want to go to Inchcolm, but it's closed in January. We're mixed between going to Edinburgh proper (been there, done that) where Coda will tempt us, checking out Dunfermline Abbey etc. (we're staying at a cheap Travelodge near there -- £12 a night for both of us :) or driving down to Northumberland. I've not been to the latter since 1999 and I'd really like to return. It may depend on how tired we are, the weather etc.

Date: 2009-01-09 10:24 pm (UTC)Yep, Northumberland was another trip I was trying to plan at one point. IIRC it was an alternative for me and N to do if we had been able to keep

Date: 2009-01-09 10:47 pm (UTC)I haven't been to the RA in Leeds for a few years. The SCA group in northern England is a bit dormant at the moment, but they used to hold events at a site in Bramhope, right by Leeds.

Date: 2009-01-09 10:45 pm (UTC)Oooooh! But wait--SATURDAY. I had better check the football fixtures before I make any promises for Saturday! :-)
EDIT: Wooo! Scottish Cup Round Five weekend! We'll have to see who's in...

http://www.davidbann.com/
http://www.hendersonsofedinburgh.co.uk/
I'll ask my vegan friend if she can recommend any others too.
