winterbadgerI managed to piss off an entire football team.
An attacking player was about to run off the endline with the ball. I was the AR on that side, tracking back and just about the flag the ball out of play. He stopped it before it went over the line and tapped it backwards to one of his teammmates, who scored.
The defending team proceeded to bitch up a storm claiming the ball had gone out. Nope. Until the entire ball crosses the line, it's in play. They were msot unpleasant.
I looked up their comparative standings today. Bitchy We Can't Believe You F*(^^&$ed Up That Call Team? 0-4-1, goal differential of -6. Team That Just Keep On Playing? 5-0-0, GD of +17. Gee, funny that.
I also annoyed one of my UK colleagues
The UK is going through the same analogue-to-digital TV conversion we are here. one person on my UK editing list was complaining about having to replace "all my televisions--it's just a scam!" So I went looking and found that the only sorts of TVs that can't be adapted are ones that don't have one or the other of two fittings (SCART plugs or RF connectors) that have been common on UK TVs for donkeys'. We engaged in a discussion, and she finally allowed as how her TVs were at least 15 years old.
Sorry, you don't get any sympathy from me for having to replace multiple TVs that are 15+ years old! And, after all, you don't have to replace them if all you're going to do is watch DVDs (though if they;re that old, you probably can't connect a DVD player to them...)
