Aug. 5th, 2008 12:51 amI love this site about sea kayaking. Yes, I can barely manage to keep a regular kayak from tipping over, so sea kayaking is quite an ambition for me. But it's an amazing way to be close to nature, be nearly part of the sea, and to travel with the bare essentials across wind and water to see some amazing places. They've been a lot of the places I've traveled either on land or during my sailing trip last autumn; they've been a lot of other places that I'd love to go.
They also have a super section on mountains...

Date: 2008-08-05 02:14 pm (UTC)I'd love to do that again -- in fact, Matthieu and I are looking into the possibility of renting a kayak for the 4th of July in Boston either next year or the year after! Paddle about for a while, then find a nice place in the Charles to settle down and watch the fireworks on the Esplanade :)

Date: 2008-08-05 03:15 pm (UTC)I'm thinking kayaking would be a great way to see fireworks, on the Charles or the Potomac. Just need to stay well to the bank, away from the folks with powerboats who have been out on the river drinking all afternoon!
