I love this site about sea kayaking. Yes, I can barely manage to keep a regular kayak from tipping over, so sea kayaking is quite an ambition for me. But it's an amazing way to be close to nature, be nearly part of the sea, and to travel with the bare essentials across wind and water to see some amazing places. They've been a lot of the places I've traveled either on land or during my sailing trip last autumn; they've been a lot of other places that I'd love to go.

They also have a super section on mountains...

Hm. I guess my experience is that river kayaks are tippier, but then again, maybe just the fact that I was paddling for dear life (literally) in the sea kayak gave me less leisure to worry about balance ... whereas in the river, I managed to freak out about jellyfish and brackish water on tiny cuts on my legs (bad combination -- random stinging and knowing that there are jellyfish), so of course I managed to flip myself over right next to one!

I'd love to do that again -- in fact, Matthieu and I are looking into the possibility of renting a kayak for the 4th of July in Boston either next year or the year after! Paddle about for a while, then find a nice place in the Charles to settle down and watch the fireworks on the Esplanade :)
