grrrr! weather

winterbadgerAfter coming back from the lovely UK where it was cool alternating with bouts of chilly (even when I wasn't on the water and even when it was bright sun and no clouds), I come back to horrible Mid-Atlantic US , where this week is doomed to be HUMID and in the 80s! In ***OCTOBER***!
Gaaaah! Get me (us) out of this place!
(I really do like our neighborhood, and if Everything Fell Apart and we had to stay here a while longer before going to the UK or New England/Canada/some other nicer place I've decided I could be OK with that. But this weather is beyond ridiculous.)

Date: 2007-10-04 08:33 am (UTC)For me, the killer is the humidity. Those 21 years I spent in Colorado (where five percent humidity is the norm unless it's actual precipitating) spoiled me. Recently, it's been so muggy here. The temperatures are a little cooler, but I'm still too warm due to the humidity.

I think it may sometimes be even *more* humid in western Scotland than I'm used to in DC (my beard was all soft and springy after a few days on the water), but it's not HOT too, which makes a huge difference. May still need a dehumidifier to prevent the books turning green, depending on where we settle...
