recent happenings #1: bikey goodness

I'm cycling again! Only short outings so far, but Rupert is very glad to be able to do something other than crouch under the steps. There's a short trail that goes from Carroll over to the Long Branch Community Center on Piney Branch; it's about a mile, but if I go back and forth once or twice, that's a nice short bit of exercise for a morning. I need to figure out the easiest way to get tot the Sligo Creek Trail, though, 'cause that's a whole 10 miles of hard trail goodness. Poor Rupe needs a good chain-cleaning, though.

'bout time ;-P

Sligo Creek is ok. Narrow, rough patches, tree roots and very twisty. I usually take the road instead of the trail, but the road is narrow.

Are you close to Long Branch now?
You should try Beach Drive. On weekends much of the DC part is closed to cars. Like having a 25 foot wide bike trail. Even the Mo Co part, with light traffic, is a nice ride.

Yep, we live right alongside Long Branch, and the LB Trail is the short one I've been riding this week.
