Rupert and I went out to explore the Paint Branch Bike Trail (apparently there's a Paint Branch park trail that is different). It was nice, nicer than the NW Branch Trail. Now we're back and I'm watching DC United's game against LA from earlier today. We're not looking good...
Earlier in the morning I worked on some computer stuff and then went to look at some houses. There are two on Fern St in DC that I really like. There's another on Piney Branch that is very nice but more than I really need unless I suddenly and unexpectedly acquire a partner and maybe a few kids. There was one I saw and stopped at in my neighbourhood on the way home--ZOMG! It is a simple Cape Cod on the outside, but it's been expanded about five different dimensions and is big enough to get lost in! I'd need a huge family to fill that. One other, also in my neighbourhood, took me about 2 seconds to see was not the sort of place I would want to live in. Though it didn't take me long to make that decision, figuring out why someone would build it in this area still has me scratching my head. Rather like the Hated Iranian Doctor's House across the street from my old place, it's a luxury house totally at odds with its surroundings. It's a $700K house with modern McMansion styling in a district of Cape Cods, bungalows, and rectangular colonials. It's very posh, but totally unlike anything near it, which begs the question why they decided to inflict it on that street?
OK, timer for dinner went off (scaring cats), must go rescue from oven. More later (perhaps).
