Aug. 11th, 2009 03:50 pmSo I spent the morning at the MVA and got a new license. Or, rather, I got a duplicate license, as they print a new one with the same information (unless you tell them something has changed--I didn't bother telling them I put on a few pounds...)
Now, I brought all the proof of ID and residence that they demand for new licenses, in case I needed it, but they didn't ask for any ID. They asked for my SSN (which is not on the license), but I'm guessing that they have the original image on file so they can look at me and see that I'm the person the license was issued to.
But they took a new photo.
Curious.

Date: 2009-08-12 05:33 pm (UTC)They digitized the database about 10 years ago. I had left w/o checking and found later that my name was misspelled. When I renewed four years later the agent pulled up my file and I saw everyone of my license's from my learners permit.
MD has always taken a new pic at renewal...in case you change your face!
Did you see a lot of kids getting id's? I mean 5,6,7, years old. There were a ton when I renewed a couple of weeks ago...never saw that before.
