two, make that three, cheers!
Jan. 22nd, 2009 07:45 pm1. Large package from Scottish Gourment arrived, with all contents intact and as ordered. Our Burns feast needs but one or two more ingredients, and the "Great Chieftain o' the Puddin' Race" is already nobly holding court in my fridge.
2. The table, she is gone! My Craigslist correspondent arrived and collected the table and chairs for which he had (honest man) already paid last night. Now to go delete the listing (and assemble the new, smaller, lower table for the morning room).
And every list of cheers need a third, so (casts about)
3. It's Thursday night, I have no pressing tasks, a slice of German beer cheese, some wheat crackers, and the second season of How I Met Your Mother to enjoy!
Hip, hip, huzzah!

Date: 2009-01-23 05:00 pm (UTC)I had completely forgotten about Burns' night!
OMG.
This requires immediate action. I think Savenor's stocks haggis at this time of year, neeps and tatties shouldn't be hard to find, I've got some good whisky, I can make oatcakes with no problem ... eee! Must get to planing the revelry!

Date: 2009-01-23 06:22 pm (UTC)Yeah, Savenor's is a super high-end butcher's shop (you can get wild bor bacon any time of the year, as well as goose fat and Kobe steak). They don't have haggis all the time, but they generally have some at the end of January. If all else fails, Caledonian Kitchen's canned haggis, while definitely not the real thing, is pretty tasty.
