ban_leodhasach sent me a link to this video of a ship experiencing some rough seas. It's a *car ferry* that's pitching like that, on the passage between Wellington (North Island, NZ) and Picton (South Island, NZ). It's a ship that used to travel across the Minch, the bit of sea between the Outer Hebrides and the Scottish mainland.

By the way, I wanted to alert you that wascalswritings passed away around the 20th - 22nd. I didn't know if you knew and I just found out today and I am very sad.

Oh, good god, how awful! :-( I didn't know. I knew he had been ill, but I thought he had been getting better. I'm so sorry to hear it.

I don't know any details nor do I know when it happened. I can just appproximate the date. I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him for a while, as he and I corresponded and were friends on Facebook. I didn't see any LJ posts for a while so I checked his Facebook to see if he was okay and I saw some posts about his passing but no details. I am stunned. He was such a nice person and I was hoping to meet him at a reinactment this summer if possible.
