I was driving in to work, thinking "What are those helicopters doing just *hovering* over there?"

Pulling people out of six-foot-high floodwaters in a suburban street, apparently!

Thankfully, no. It's in Maryland, but pretty far from where I live. On the other hand, I may be indirectly affected--I'll find out when I get home whether I have water or not.

When I saw that on the news, I was grateful for the wide dry lanes I had - even with a bottleneck for a bridge.
