I was actually able to find something on the disbandment. The Raddall piece is very affecting, describing a great deal of the life of the Legion troopers who settle in NS after the war. Apparently there's a wee trace of the Carolinas still there--the author encountered some distinct accents still left in local speech int he area the Legion settled, even in the 1940s.
Off-reckonings, yikes! I wrote a paper for the grenadier company newsletter years ago on pay, and when I read it a couple of years ago it made *no* sense. Maybe one of these days...
