a real Thanksgiving message
Nov. 27th, 2008 08:27 amA friend of mine recently posted a plea to her friendslist to help people she knows who are facing foreclosure. In less than a day, she's already raised a substantial sum. Who knows? It may not end up being enough, but at least she's trying, and people are responding, people who don't even know her friends, but who trust her. And if that isn't the sort of story to give thanks for, I don't know what is. :-)

Date: 2008-11-27 04:16 pm (UTC)"Ebony is a stay-at-home mom with her two kids.." So she's chosen, of her own free will, to be a dependent with no income.
"Her oldest son is developmentally delayed so they have to pay for his nurse and special schooling." And they still chose to have a second child, and only one partner earning, despite this?
"Then, surprise! Ebony found out she was pregnant... " Surprise? Have they never heard of contraception?
No. I'll help people who have genuine misfortune, and who are doing all they can to help themselves. I'm not rescuing people from their own choices and their own stupidity. That small donation will go to Concern instead.
