Did you read the article in yesterday's Guardian about how Asda tried to force magazines to give them free advertising in order to be sold at their stores?

I hadn't, but that did make me think of the days I managed the bookstore in Boston and was told not to argue with the guys who brought our bulk periodicals if they slipped some extra things we didn't order on the invoice because, well, it was never very much and they were guys you didn't argue with. The sort of guys who, in NJ, say, would have been engaged in the waste disposal industry...

Oh look, its chuckdarwin, why am I not surprised? He's been banned from that comm before now... How dare anybody not share his stereotypes! Personally I thought the pic a little odd but saw a fat happy guy eating his snack, if I thought further I might have wondered if that was his own mustache. Of course now I know better and must be sure that I think of all Mexican people as potentially lazy, worthless beings, especially if they happen to be a bit on the large side.

Not that this helps Tesco; I don't shop there and I don't eat tortilla chips.

Been kind of off blogging a bit. It's a little creepy to think of some Russian billionaire close to Putin & co effectively owning one's journal. Probably silly. Perhaps I'll resume soon.
