is there anything worth watching on TV?

For about the millionth time (OK, maybe third), RCN has had system failure and (I don't understand how this works) erased all the saved shows on our DVR. Not only all the actual programs, but the list of things we wanted it to record.

So, besides soccer and The Daily Show and a couple of things I know I want (The Wire, Life on Mars, Torchwood, Battlestar Galactica when the next season comes) and Neta's comfort TV (Scrubs, Law & Order), I'm at a bit of a loss as to what would be worth recording. I don't watch TV as a regular thing, so I don't know what's on.

Any suggestions?

Well, if you're getting Torchwood, you should see the new series of Dr. Who when it resumes. :)

There isn't much on, actually, but your list is pretty close to mine, so yes, Doctor Who, maybe Chuck and Pushing Daisies. Old Farscapes if you haven't seen 'em.

Elf and I watch mostly stuff from Discovery and HGTV. I highly recommend "Mythbusters" and "Dirty Jobs," though don't watch the latter during dinner if you've got a queasy stomach. >;-) We LOVES our MB and DJ!

We're finishing up Veronica Mars. Or rather, we're finishing up my rampant love for Logan Echols.

I'm also rewatching West Wing.

We do watch Psych and Monk.

I imagine that Ntflix is really getting a lot of business right now.

Yeah, with a lot of things, I find myself thinking "Oh, it's halfway through the season-I'll just get it from Netflix later..."

If you want to see DVR recordings of UK shows (at least BBC and ITV ones) go here:

It's supposed to only be for people who have a UK license, so it might try blocking you after you sign up. However, if you message the mods and give an excuse (and after all, you will have a license soon enough) they should give you an override.

As far as American shows go, No Reservations on the Travel Channel kicks ass.
