painting projects
Dec. 6th, 2007 03:01 pmHey,
john_arundel and
gr_c17 (and maybe even
bidger), speaking of this reply, I am reminded that I have an Old Glory Maccabean Jewish army to paint, and plenty of Macedonians who can be the Seleucids! :-)
Of course, I also have FOW troops that could be used for short (hour or two) games on weeknights if I painted them up (especially these guys!

Does that army have

Date: 2007-12-07 03:43 pm (UTC)Well, come to think of it, it was the Zealotes (who fought against Vespasian and his sons) who were so dead set (so to speak) on killing themselves. The Maccabees were more of Patton's mindset.
But it would be kind of entertaining: do a model base with some of the guys from the film (use medieval footmen to get the quilted-gambeson look, then add German WWI head to get the picklehaubes) and then have the element fight like a Scythed Chariot (+4/+4 destroyed unless it beats its opponent, destroys Knights and most heavy foot, makes light troops flee, otherwise recoils those it beats).
