well, that's one of them taken care of for maybe half a night - what's everyone else going to be drinking?

I was rather assuming that's the drink for the period after the final shot but before you leave the field. Last event of the season, our gun captain used to provide champagne for the same purpose. Mind you, he didn't have to run enemy fire to get it there :)

Our crusty old artillery officer would give his crew a glass of port in his marquee--but only after the gun had been cleaned and returned to the park!
