Date: 2007-07-31 07:13 am (UTC)I'm not in a flood-hit area myself, but I gather everything's under control: they used the army to move equipment around, supply water from bowsers, provide temporary accomodation where needed, and so on. Roughly the same as we'd do if called in to a disaster in a 3rd world country, only this was at home. The system is there, it got used, it worked. Now we can get back to arguing over what twit thought building on flood plains was a good idea.
