Oct. 11th, 2006 07:05 pmI am assured by my searches that Heraclitus is the chap to whom the aphorism "You can't step in the same river twice," is generally attributed. But I will always think of
redactrice when I think of it, partly because she's said it many times to me (and probably will say it a few more), but also partly because I can't think of it without thinking of the rivers around Williamstown, where we went to college and met. Especially I think of the Green River, which I spent time staring into on more than one occasion, wondering where life was going to lead me.
