My new icon didn't come out quite the way I meant it to.
Here's the basic image.
Can you tell I'm not a graphic artist? :-)

Date: 2006-09-30 05:30 pm (UTC)Be that as it may, I've got two versions of the icon for you: one with white text and one with red and blue text. I cropped the picture closer so you can see Mr. Sheen's face better at 100x100. (That's the trick -- build the damn thing at 100x100 right off the bat. It's a bitch, but at least you know what will ultimately work.)
These are at least legible, though I think I could do better in Photoshop -- I had to use Elements for these because that's what I have on the laptop. But I might be persuaded to go to the Big Machine sometime and crack open a can of Photoshop Whoop Ass. (What can I say? I'm a PS junkie. ^_^;)
IF I knew how to do animated gifs, I'd put the "My President may be fictional" on a different frame from "but he's a damn sight better than yours" -- that's just a lot of text for one 100x100 image, but I don't know how to do animated gifs, so it's all pretty moot, ne? If I learn though, I'll send that one, too. ^.^

Date: 2006-09-30 07:38 pm (UTC)I Googled it, and it seems to be used by an awful lot of Christian websites as a perfect confession of faith. I can unerstand why--it's a good example of a simple, honest fellow sticking by what in his heart he knows to be true in the face of wicked and insincere blandishments.

And, yes, I realised that an animated icon would be the way to do it (one could even use several different pictures of Bartlett that way), but I don't know how to do those either :-).
Re: Icons
Date: 2006-10-05 02:59 pm (UTC)If you have a pre-layer effects version of PS, you could rasterise the text, load the selection of the rasterized text, turn the selection into a path in the Paths palette, then stroke the path by hitting the "stroke path" icon at the bottom of the Paths palette. This is less elegant than the previous method, especially since turning selections into paths usually results in a not-all-that-accurate version of the original selection, and you have to remember to load the correct brush and color beforehand or you might get some funky shit goin' down. >;-)
If you really want to know, let me know your version of PS, and I can walk you through via e-mail or something. ^_^
(Sorry -- I'm not only a Photoshop Goddess, I'm also a Photoshop junkie. ^_^;;)
