Late to bed last night. Up earlier than I meant to be (thanks, birds and cats!)

Late in to work (late being a relative term: I was two hours earlier than I usually am, but I had meant to be two and a half hours earlier).

Late to a meeting downtown where I was supposed to be representing the department I work for. (Thank you, DC, for turning two major four-lane streets into one-lane thoroughfares). Only five minutes late, but...

A tiresome snafu when I got back that involved a lot of unnecessary walking back and forth.

Get down to the cafeteria to buy a late lunch and found I'd left my wallet in the car.

Another five hours of work to go. *sigh* And a 9.5 hour day tomorrow (making up hours from last week).

LOL! Reminds me of a cartoon the CS Monitor published when redactrice was working there; someone in the news had had trouble with their computers, and the cartoon was of a spokesman saying "We're resolving the problems the computers are having..." and in the background a whole lot of PCs, with people saying "Bad, bad computer!" or putting up little signs saying "No dessert for this computer!" :-)

It was, particularly because I wanted to turn into the Reagan Building parking entrance exactly opposite where the blockage was, but didn't feel like being torn limb from limb by angry motorists...
