quick bike entry
Apr. 24th, 2006 10:04 amWent down to the park and did the same ride again. I meant to go down to the other park I ended at last time and start from there, but I got up late this morning and by ~8.00 when I was on the road the traffic was preposterous.
33 minutes, 5.72 miles. Tried out the new padded shorts I got at REI yesterday, and they seemed a bit unnecessary. I think I'll save them for long trips; I can see where they might be nice for that.
Usually I need a shower when I get back, but today Rupert did as well! I had gotten some lube and given him a through oiling, but the trail was so muddy I had to wash him off when I got back, so after I dried him I lubed him up again, just to be on the safe side. Like they say in all the instructional videos, "There's no such thing as too much lube!" ;-)
More later about other stuff; thank heavens for nice housemates and retail therapy, is all I can say.

Rupert should be happy at being so pampered.
After getting caught out in Faquier County in yesterday's rain, all my bike got was a quick wipe with an old undershirt.
