bike morning

winterbadgerA quick ride this morning. Top speed up to 21.7 mph (less braking on the Overbrook downhill), 8.8 mph average, 2.32 miles.
Changed gears too fast downshifting uphill and the chain came off the first ring. I really need to clean it and relube it; it's *very* dirty, and they didn't clean it as part of the tune-up.
I rode up the Big Hill as far as the driveway of Nextdoor with the Dogs! If I can ride all the way up the hill to my driveway I will feel Cool! It helped that I switched way up in gears and added lots of speed coming back down Highland. *But* I was very careful and kept a close eye on the intersection, ready to slow down (or stop) if there were traffic. And then I worked the gears pretty well going uphill so as to get the benefit.
*sigh* now shower and work... And this will be several hours I need to make up later in the week, as I need to leave around 5.30 or 6.00 to get to the Flames of War game tonight.
