winterbadgerI used to have a map of the neighborhood with distances on it. I can't find it (it's probably at the bottom of The Big Box), but I printed out a map from Google today and used a homemade ruler to come up with the following.
Basic route (all the way down our street and back): about a mile and a quarter (about 2 km).
Expanded route (with two side streets): a little over a mile and a half (just over 2.5 km)
Full route (all three side streets): just over a mile and three-quarters (just under 3km)
So, it's not such an exciting distance. :-( But it's what I have time for in the morning.
Only then I discovered by turning on the satellite imagery feature of Google that they have the address pointer for my address off by about 100m. :-) They say we live in Accotink Stream. ("We live in a bloody swamp!") Well, doesn't matter; the relative distances are all that really count.
