Glasgow accomodations

University dorms; pretty tempting at GBP15 a night if one doesn't insist on en suite accomodations... (there are flat-like rooms, too, but all north of campus by a good way.)

Good location for Kelvingrove and the museums...

I used to stay up in UMIST dorms when I was up in Manchester all the time - amazingly good value and if you don't need all the frills, just the ticket.

Just as good as a youth hostel: lets you save your pennies to travel longer or to splurge on a nicer place somewhere down the road.

And if they're dorms, seems pretty likely there'd be some pubs nearby.
