I got an A in the analytical methods course (apprently the prof didn't even notice I turned the paper in late) and a note saying "hope to see you in future courses".

I got a copy of S&T's Germannia in the mail; [livejournal.com profile] poliscidiva was not as excited by this as I was when I showed it to her, but I imagine [livejournal.com profile] vikingcat might be inviegled to play it at some point, even though it doesn't have either ships or jet aircraft in it, and [livejournal.com profile] john_arundel may be willing to give it a try too, as long as I let him play the Romans. :-)

I got several compliments from coworkers on the face. Our two government contacts didn't even notice, apparently. :-)

And we got an email from the really nice place in Oban that I had goven up hope on getting us a room at (the owners had been off ont heir own vacation). We will be staying for two days in the Rose Room at Barcaldine House Hotel. [livejournal.com profile] poliscidiva is *very* pleased. :-)

Pondering it, I am surprised to realize that I have never played a historical wargame involving the Romans. Worse yet, I believe that aside from one partial game of Empires of the Middle Ages, a couple of solitaire outings with S&T issue games in the 1970s, and Metagaming's Grailquest and Sticks and Stones, I've never played one set prior to the 18th century. Quite deplorable.
