Yeah, I won't be here for those.

The Ramshead
I'm not going to go see them, but Firefall and Poco are still touring? Be still my adolescent pop-music memories...

Jammin Java

I don't recognize many people playing there in the next few months, but Jez Lowe (April 12) and Catie Curtis (May 20-21: again, probably won't be catching her this time) sound like people I'd enjoy...

Susan Werner's playing at the Ramshead on April 14th - she's another one I think you might enjoy given the artists you mention above. We saw her at Wolf Trap last week and she was terrific - wonderful voice, a great way with lyrics, and very, very funny. Her most recent CD is in a different style from her earlier work - more jazzy/Cole Porter/Gershwin style - but her curent show is a mix of many styles, including in the one we saw, the most original cover of the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" that I've ever heard. And as I said, she's funny. Enviable pair of legs, too.

I'm hoping to get to both the Lucy Kaplansky and Mary Chapin Carpenter shows at Wolf Trap. I assume MCC's playing on the main stage, rather than at the Barns? She usually does.

The Redbird Tour at Jammin Java on March 30th, and Patty Larkin at the Ramshead on April 1st have both been recommended to me as shows I'd enjoy based on liking musicians similar to those you listed, but I'm not sure we'll be going to either of those. The Indigo Girls at Wolf Trap on March 8th would also be a distinct possibility if it weren't scheduled the day before the MCC show - until I'm able to work again, I can't justify two concerts in two days, and unfortunately the INS is still delaying the date on which they'll accept applications for the new visa I need. Sigh - don't they understand that a girl needs to be able to work in order to pay for her music fix?
