upcoming music
Mar. 22nd, 2005 10:58 pmThanks to
geekchick for prompting me to look ahead.
Wolftrap
Christine Lavin, April 22
Bonnie Rideout, April 30
Lucy Kaplansky, May 6
Mary Chapin Carpenter, June 9
Mark Knopfler, June 26
Great Big Sea, August 9
Gordon Lightfoot, August 17
The Birchmere
Schooner Faire, May 21
Fairport Convention, May 26 Yeah, I won't be here for those.
The Ramshead
I'm not going to go see them, but Firefall and Poco are still touring? Be still my adolescent pop-music memories...
Jammin Java
I don't recognize many people playing there in the next few months, but Jez Lowe (April 12) and Catie Curtis (May 20-21: again, probably won't be catching her this time) sound like people I'd enjoy...

Date: 2005-03-23 05:54 am (UTC)I'm hoping to get to both the Lucy Kaplansky and Mary Chapin Carpenter shows at Wolf Trap. I assume MCC's playing on the main stage, rather than at the Barns? She usually does.
The Redbird Tour at Jammin Java on March 30th, and Patty Larkin at the Ramshead on April 1st have both been recommended to me as shows I'd enjoy based on liking musicians similar to those you listed, but I'm not sure we'll be going to either of those. The Indigo Girls at Wolf Trap on March 8th would also be a distinct possibility if it weren't scheduled the day before the MCC show - until I'm able to work again, I can't justify two concerts in two days, and unfortunately the INS is still delaying the date on which they'll accept applications for the new visa I need. Sigh - don't they understand that a girl needs to be able to work in order to pay for her music fix?

Yes, in fact she is.
I've got to stop looking at that schedule. My eye somehow missed Al Jarreau and Cassandra Wilson the first time.
But it also missed the Bobs, and I recall someone saying she liked the Bobs...
