NB and I have been enjoying having a leisurely weekend where we could do (almost) anything we wanted. We had dinner at Tara Thai last night, then sat around the house with a bottle of wine and all the time in the world for conversation. She did have one errand today (helping out a friend) and she has two news interviews tomorrow (one with CBC News around 11 and one with Fox News on Sunday--eek! I can't recall if it's 1.30 or 2.00). But otherwise we're doing a lot of hanging out and talking, being colonized by cats, and all that goopy staring deeply into each others' eyes and smiling stuff. And the occasional smootch. :-) It's all good.

She's a policy analyst at the Rand Corporation, specializing (if I've got his right) on the Middle East, counterterrorism, and multinational operations.

Airtime on FOX News is scheduled for approximately 1:50 EST tomorrow. It's nice of them to take time away from the hard work of spinning reality to the right in order to provide devotees of this network with a very fleeting glimpse into your stupefyingly good fortune . . .

She is right, of course. And as usual.

Being mistaken for Nora feels like high praise--fortunately for her it never happens to me in the corporeal world. Sorry to have sown confusion; I tried to compose a message that wouldn't sound like she wrote it, but apparently not diligently enough.

I've been deterred from getting an LJ account by memories of how joining ConSimWorld drove a truck through my productivity for weeks afterwards. But it's time to bite the bullet, I suppose.

Consimworld... my friends Bob and Aaron (not LJ people) have both passed on to me information they glean on CSW. I have perhaps avoided much loss of productivity by finding the CSW boards' interface so frustrating that I can't bear to try and read it regularly. Besides, it would just lead me to spend *more* money on games I haven't the time to play, and Nora can tell you the state of my game closet is already drastic...

Now, I do have to try hard not to read bigsoccer.com and Straight Dope (and, in truth) LJ, in the office except very sparingly over lunch, or I will either have to work extra late or commit serious timecard fraud. :-)

OK, I'm in. Having one more potential distraction to resist is a small price to pay to save you from squandering endearments on an undeserving recipient (entertaining though it is).

Thank you very much. Although I'm inclined to think that she is even more deserving than I of happiness. But I guess that's what happens when you're goofy in love with someone. :-)
