trip cancelled
Feb. 1st, 2009 10:07 amOK, with the car broken, some contractual stuff around getting Mum's house ready to sell unresolved (someone was supposed to be doing some work while I was gone, but they never got the contract to me, and they won't start without a signed contract and a deposit), and Mum being really unstable, I'm just not in a state to be going away for a week.
The Expedia cancellation insurance won't cover me, because my emergency is apparently not compelling enough (if I had had a breakdown on the *way* to the airport, or if a family member had become seriously ill *yesterday*, that apparently would have been enough), but the good news is that since I cancelled ahead of the flight time, I can get a credit for the cost of the flight, minus a penalty, if I rebook through the same agent with the same carrier (BMI). So I'll try this all again in a couple of months.

ban_leodhasach and my other friends in the Edinburgh area. I'm bummed to be missing the football we were going to see next weekend (still, another time I can see Hibs with R, and she'll be much happier about that :-). I'm sad not to be seeing Scotland, but maybe trading February for spring or summer won't be so bad a deal. :-) But at this point I'm mostly upset that my freaking car is broken *again* and that I missed *both* john_arundel's party *and* the con.
