Today started off well, with a lovely dream in between getting up to feed the cats (after which I went back to bed) and getting up properly. After getting up the second time, I went to the farmer's market in Falls Church with
shy_kat and bought lots of yummy things. I came back, did a bit of emailing, and went for a bike ride.
I took my camera along this time and took some photos of the bits of trail I frequently ride. I tried to get a few photos of birds and butterflies, but was pretty uniformly unsuccessful. I had a nice, leisurely ride of about 11 miles up and down the Accotink part of the Cross-County Trail: saw one very short bit I hadn't seen before. Chatted with one or two people on the trail, including one fellow who had biked up from Lake Accotink; he got to Woodburn, and that was the farthest north he'd come. I said his starting point was the farthest *south* I'd been. :-)
Rupert is feeling dodgy again. I rode 3/4 of the way, did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, and his brake started scraping against he wheel again. Something is either wrong with the brake or the wheel, I'm thinking; it shouldn't be this easy to jar it out of postion. I'm going to review the part of my shop's webpage that deals with repairs to brakes, but I'm also signed up for their basic repair class on Monday night, so hopefully it can get sorted there if I can't figure it out.
I'll try to upload the photos and post a link to them today or tomorrow.
