redactrice and I finally got to the DMV, and after some slight confusion over what we were doing (not, we're not really selling our cars to each other; no, we don't need new license plates and we're not paying tax on the blue book value of the cars; we just want to take one person's name off each title!), the nice Russian ladt behind the counter got us sorted out and, for $12 apiece we noe have sole and exclusive title to our own car.
