hypocrisy among the badger killers

First of all, let's stop using the deceptively antiseptic word "cull". Badgers are being *killed*, not trimmed or tidied.
Second, as this BBC report makes clear, there are alternatives to killing badgers, alternatives that the pro-killing forces don't want to acknowledge.
And as this second piece indicates, the current killing plan doesn't guarantee that TB spread will decrease. In fact, the way the killing is being done may cause it to INCREASE.
So, badgers are dying unnecessarily *and* it is likely this will make the TB situation worse.
So, who is it thinks this is a good idea?
