two interesting takes on online dating

An argument that online dating makes people more likely to break up because there is always a pool of other people out there to date,
and a counter-argument, that people who date online don't particularly enjoy it and want to stop as soon as they can.

Date: 2013-01-10 08:24 pm (UTC)I really do NOT like online dating. And, I think it has inherent flaws in that people can disappear in a way that is pretty hard to do w/ face-to-face meetings. That lack of accountability means that people "try" less at the beginning of a relationship.
But, it also gives me hope because there are a bunch of people out there with whom I match 95%+. No, it won't work with all of them, but dating isn't hopeless either. And, I can look at patterns in "who" those 95% are and try to meet those types of people face-to-face.
