terrifically nice Burns Night

Several old friends, some new friends, good food, good drink, conversation, jokes, some Burns history and reading, some good music (Cantrip and Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas featured prominently, with Old Blind Dogs and Dougie Maclean on standby.

Six cheeses and oatcakes to start; haggis (normal and vegetarian), tatties and neeps, a dish of leeks and beets and raisins; cranachan and shortbread and mince pies for afters. Heather ale, local Scotch Ale, whisky, and soft drinks to wash everything down.

A sterling set or "remarks on the immortal memory". A very good address to the lassies and a fine reply (both of which I hope I will have a chance to post here). And a good deal or craic afterwards.
