A mammoth rainstorm, a massive home win for DC United, and enough friends coming over that it was practically a party. But was that the big news? Nope.

The big news is that Emily officially moved in with me! After almost exactly five months of dating, we've decided to try out living together to see how we get on. We've agreed on a six-month trial period with option to renew. :-)

shykat, and EP's former roommate M and her BF giving us a hand, we moved everything very expeditiously, avoiding almost all the cloudbursts in a very rainy day. EP bought us all pizza afterwards, I went out and restocked the beercellar, and we had a very pleasant afternoon talking and catching up with each other. Peter and Mel both had to go home to their SOs, but E and I dragged Bryan off to see Captain America, which we all enjoyed. Then we drove home through the very heavy rainstorm (as in "monsoon", as in "are we going to make it over the Sligo Creek Bridge, which seems to be about 2' deep in stormwater?". B went off on his way to Catonsville and we collapsed into bed, getting up just in time to dash off Monday morning. Which was, yes, sadly, the first day back to school for Emily. "For you, the ~~war~~ summer is over."

I have such good friends, and such a great sweetheart! :-)
