credit where credit is due

I just finished watching last night's DC United match against LA, and I have to say I'm impressed by DC.

Every time you think there's no new way they can disappoint, they find a new one.

They really looked like a competent, sometimes even skilled, team for large portions of the match. But, as ALWAYS, they fall apart right at the end of the match, giving away two perfect opportunities to Landon Donovan (who is no slouch). And, of course, totally blowing two perfect chances to even up the score at the end of the game.

Definitely not buying season tickets next year unless drastic changes are made in management. Why throw good money after bad?

Any chance the entire DC team is of Scots ancestry? The description you gave sounds like every competive Scots match I have watched (and I'm not just talking about football!!)

Naaah, the days of yore when we were captained by John Harkes (first-generation Scots-American, and the first American to score a goal in Wembley Stadium) are long gone. We do have the captain of the Montenegrin national team, does that count? :-)

You should try watching Crystal Palace Baltimore. We arrived 15 minutes late, and they were already down 3. It did not get much better.
