Thanks to my friend Justin for this update.

Date: 2010-09-21 03:24 pm (UTC)I remember following a link, somewhere, sometime, that ended up on a flat earth site. The forum was full of eager scientists trying to prove to the flat-earthers that the world was, indeed, round (well, oblate spheroid, but let's not split hairs). They were calmly refuted in the most scientific, erudite language, which, not surprisingly, supported completely fallacious arguments. After I read for a while, I thought, "Geez, no one is both that smart and that dumb. I'll bet that Flat-earth apologist is just a troll who enjoys messing with people."
Now that I see this, however, I'm not so sure... @_@
