things just get better and better
Apr. 2nd, 2010 06:28 pm1. I feel much less like a Plaguebearer of Nurgle.
2. When I went to see the dr. during the week, he said that moderate alcohol consumption _IS_ quite OK with the meds he'd prescribed me. (We did mutually calibrate on what "moderate" meant. *Not* what it means to
ban_leodhasach ;-) SO now I can really enjoy the lovely birthday present that
soccer_fox and
gr_c17 gave me!
3. Five of the six people I've asked to be referees for my grad school applications have agreed; the sixth I haven't heard from yet, but she's hugely busy doing grad school herself, so I may not hear until later.
4. The weather is really nice. I'm going to take a bottle of (sparkling, non-alcoholic) perry outside and read in the warm sunlight while it lasts.
5. The Globetrotter missed her flight to Paris, but the airline rebooked her through Frankfurt, with only a couple of hours' delay. :-) She is off to have fun in the City of Lights!
6.Another of my friends (need to think of a good nickname for her :-) The Antiquary is off to bask in the sun in Andalucia! (Hear that lisp? I've been working on it, like Lord Grey of Wharton.)

Date: 2010-04-06 07:31 pm (UTC)Well, he asked how much I drink, and I said "Normally, between 4-6 drinks a week," and he said, "Oh, that's fine."
I do notice, though, that within a week or two of cutting back to almost no drinks, I lost about five pounds...
Really hope you enjoy your birthday present.
I have been--in moderation! ;-)
