A notice from Toyota that my 2009 Matrix is subject to recall and needs to have the new part fitted to it to make it safe.

This after I specifically asked at the dealership when I was there two weeks ago for standard service and was told that, no, my car is not affected.

It's possible that two weeks ago, your car wasn't on the list. The list was expanded significantly last week.
