Ooh, thanks for those links!! My Dad was an aircraft radio operator and navigator on the CBI route. He was a corporal in the Army Air Corps, trained at Scott Field before flying out. Sometimes I wonder whether he got the position because he volunteered instead of waiting to be drafted.
