The promised storms never happened, so it's still hot and nasty. Not they're promising for tomorrow what was supposed to come today, and then back to this horrid stuff for the foreseeable future.

Sad to say, I think summer (humid, humid, humid, hot and getting hotter) has finally arrived. Sometimes it shows up earlier in May, but we got a tempting respite for a few weeks this year...

So, during the week, probably the chore of humping the huge, antiquated A/C units out of the closet and reinstalling them. Ugh. That means I also lose that much more daylight, as they take up a good portion of the windows of wall that have the least window space to begin with (who thought that up?)

And the worst part is that it totally kills my desire to exercise, which I need very badly to do a lot more than I have been. But when the weather is like this, I just want to hide from the world and move as little as possible. It's like living your whole day in a steamy shower room.

I really, REALLY hate summers here.

Okay, so I don't miss the Midatlantic States summers. Bleah. I remember Philly pre-airconditioning when I was a kid. No thank you.

We're having sun and 25 -- hottest day of the year so far. Who knows? Maybe we will have the barbeque summer they're predicting and we won't have the deluge again. I'll believe it when I see it.

Sounds like life in New Orleans: During the summer it's too hot and sticky to move and during the winter - wait, there is no winter! Here's wishing you some better weather soon.

Yeah, hot nasty days are somewhat more bearable if one can get at least a little relief at night.

At least it's a dry heat in Portland. Which is some small comfort when it's over 90 for two weeks running... :-(
