Sheer joy? Alan Shearer appointed manager at Newcastle. I really can't believe that there is any alcohol left to drink in Newcastle at this point; it will all have gone down Magpies' necks or been sprayed over people in celebration.

Amazing? Scotland wins a WCQ match!

Double amazing? BOLIVIA buries Argentina 6-1. Jaime, Marco, the boys are all right!

Good news? England beats Ukraine, having been urged on by Scottish PM.

Double good news? Netherlands sink Macedonia 4-0.

Doubleplusgood news? President Obama (you know, I never get tired of typing that) refers to WCQ matches as "football". No briefing? The man *knows* sports; I bet he had an informed opinion. :-)

And the US is leading T&T 1-0 (at least until I go take the pause off my DVR...)

Yeah that was amazing - Scotland actually won something! Even if it was just against Iceland.
