gmail users

Has anyone else noticed in recent days that Gmail seems to be having more and more problems? Slow loads, errors, delays?

I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet and clear out all the deadwood in my Gmail and then download all that remains, just in case the whole thing crashes.

It has been down a bit and has been pretty laggy. I don't think it's going to crash and leave you without email though, google's a big company with backups and such.

You know, whenever I make assumptions like that, I find I'm sorry later that I did. :-/

The only company I can remember losing data without a backup was ezboards and they were kind of an unprofessional lot catering to small gaming guilds with no real means of income that I could figure out. Google holds a lot of large corporate email accounts etc.

I think google has an offline option. I don't know how much it downloads or not.

Now, livejournal, there's one I need to get off my behind and backup. I'm really skeptical about their future and the recent hackings have shown they can't restore from backups.
