Soft, apparently steamed home fries and a dry, crumb-breaded fish steak are NOT "pub-style fish and chips"!!!

technically if there is no deep fat frying involved can a potato be called a chip???

They didn't taste too awful, but they were not what I would call a chip!

johhn_arundel, gr_c17, and I still have very fond memories of the chippy on the Royal Mile where we ate dinner after a night of drinking. Never had food tasted so good...
