Five posts in two days! I'm burning up the wires here! :-)
Just to catch up on a few things.
Had a nice day with Da Grrlz Saturday; we went over to our old stamping ground of Falls Church and went to the farmers' market, went past the old house, did a few other errands, and had lunch at Sweetwater Tavern. We hung out at my place after that; they had work to do, and I pottered about doing this and that. They made a super dinner in the evening (spinach with pine nuts and currants plus tasty crabcakes, all from the market) and we played The Prince (verdict, good but not great, probably better with 4-5 people; I gather from reviews that Princes of the Renaissance may be a better game on the same subject).
Sunday I made them coffee (which they had never had before and were trying out because they are thinking of traveling in Central America, Land of the Bean--they did NOT like it!) and sausages (also from the market) and made myself some Irish oatmeal. They went off to hang out with
poliscidiva and her new husband, while I set off for the home of
john_arundel and
ethanninis_mom for more gaming. Met
gr_c17 and
soccer_fox there; we all played Descent and Munchkin Cthulhu, most enjoyably.
Today, sadly, the Grllz are leaving!! :-( I said a sad farewell to them this morning, as they are packing their tents like the Arabs today and stealing off to Hudson to visit with C's folks for a while.
However, I have good news as well as sad; my friend Rhoda has joined up with LJ! She's got a journal at
ban_leodhasach, though she has said she's more likely to comment than post her own entries, at least for now.

Date: 2008-11-24 08:22 pm (UTC)I picked up her cup later and drank it, since she wasn't coming within ten feet of it. It was Turkish in its sweetness. :-)
Melissa just said "Ooh! People really drink this every day?"
