Acting under instruction from our landlady, I took all three of my window A/C units out for storage, so that the windows could be more fully sealed against cold.
I have to say, that was even more of a job than I was expecting it to be. These units are friggin' huge. And the number of generations of baby birds that have been raised in the nests under them and inside the window frame is somewhere between "innumerable" and "countless". I'm just guessing, but I'm pretty sure that the LL never took these units out when she lived here.
The cats are fascinated that (a) the big things in the windows are gone and (b) it smells all like birds there...
