Nov. 6th, 2008 08:37 pmJust watched 'Catch and Release', which I quite liked. (Yes, I'm a big fan of chick flicks. I'm OK with that. :-) Jennifer Garner is quite pretty, or would be if she were a *little* less skinny, and her character's wardrobe is excellent--super colours and fabrics and patterns, and all of the style I think looks really cool. Clearly I should be dating 30-something yuppie grrls from Denver. :-)
Speaking of which, it's also a great ad for Colorado. Beautiful, beautiful country (which I know from having visited there, though I've not been to Boulder), almost enough to seduce me away from all the other places I'd like to live. Better mountains than New England (sorry, Berkshires), amazing forests, wonderful lakes and rivers. Only drawback--pretty darn far from the ocean. And from what I recall, to get to the really beautiful mountains, you have to go through an awful lot of bare, scrubby brown stuff. And apparently they cheated and filmed some of it in BC (*another* beautiful part of the world that looks like it might be a wonderful place to live). And the characters have a *killer* bungalow-style house, absolutely the sort of house I'd love to live in.
In fact, I think I'd like to just step into the movie and live there. It looks pretty wonderful. Well, except for the one chap being dead. And the other guy trying to kill himself. But, you know, the great farmers' market looks like it would make up for that...
Most of all, I loved Kevin Smith. Kevin Smith is wonderful. :-) But a hint tot he director: Juliette Lewis? Not. Beautiful. Striking? Yes. But The other characters describe her as sexy and gorgeous...well, they're doing a good job of acting. :-)
Blither, blither, blither. And I haven't even had anything to drink. I just really liked the movie. :-)
