"America we New Yorkers thank you for your concern for us on that terrible day seven years ago. But you can honor us, and those of our people who were murdered, far better by moving forward, rather than looking back. Next 9/11, do us a favor -- no minute of silence, no tears or flag waving, no remembrance of fallen heroes. Take the day to act a bit more like us; put on your sharpest clothes, go eat at an ethnic restaurant, take mass transportation to work, go to an art gallery, root for the Yankees, yell at someone in the street who has done something stupid, do anything that moves you forward and let the past be buried. Hell, let it be paved over, built upon, and sold at market rate, because that is the New York way."
