I just noticed that the Proclaimers are going to be at the Birchmere later in the month (27th) and my current favourites (Old Blind Dogs) will be there in September with Teada and Cara.
Any other musicians on their schedule that my readers would recommend? I seem to think I've heard good things about Janis Ian. I seem to recall enjoying Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy when friends played them for me, but I'm not sure that they're enough my cup of tea to lay out the money for tickets.

Date: 2008-04-18 02:08 am (UTC)If you like good guitar, don't miss Leo Kottke. He's awesome recorded, and he's supposed to be spectacular live. Also, if you like bluegrass, the Seldom Scene are awesome. I heard about them because I went to middle school with the banjo player's son, andwent to see them a bunch of times before I moved to Boston. And even without John Duffy, they're supposed to be fabulous.
Don't know how you feel about Jerry Jeff Walker, but my dad loves him. For what that's worth :)
